Hello everyone, and welcome to our monthly newsletter! We hope you are enjoying your New Year's! This is a smaller newsletter this month,  but you can always expect more updates in the future! We have some fun things both here and on the horizon that we can’t wait to share with you all!

What's Coming

Coming soon to theatres near you

Though December was very busy for everyone, we want everyone to know that despite activity picking up again, we are still tirelessly working on new features, events, and activities for everyone to participate in. We've been super happy about the engagement so far from all our updates, and we're hoping to push that activity further.

• As mentioned in last month's newsletter, NPCs will soon each have their own little ARPG prompts similar to the three existing farming prompts. We are still working out the finer details, but we know you guys love the NPCs just as much as us, and we really hope to encourage people into playing with them more often!
• Collections have their own custom organization in the works. We are still trying to figure out how to execute this in a way that is both easy to work with on user and mod sides, all while being easy on the eyes. We have yet to fully decide if we are going to be using an existing extension, or if we are going to create something completely new and custom to pacapillars, but in summary, your little collectables will only be compiled in one little ugly inventory section all mixed together for just a little bit. When we have finished with a collection feature to the site, we will make it so everything is sorted into their respective collection accordingly.
• Visual guides are closer than ever! We know this has been teased for... well, years, but we will just be cleaning up some loose ends over the next little bit, and we're hoping to get the guides publicly accessable sooner rather than later. We understand users getting frustrated over the wait, it is important information everyone needs to know after all, but it shouldn't be more than a couple months now if luck is on our side!
• We almost have a full run of reoccurring events to take place through every month of the year. We wont give too many details for planned events yet as to keep things a surprise, but we have been learning from past events what people like, and what they don't like, so we are hoping to keep these events fun for everyone. Themes for each reoccurring event will change anually, but if you ever have ideas for event themes, feel free to send us a suggestion in our discord server or in our feedback form (details about leaving feedback can be found in the above "Updates" section of this newsletter!)
• Over the next few days, you can expect to see a new little comment in prompts mentioning that you can create crafts for the prompt in question! We saw how much everyone loved making crafts for Halloween, so we just wanted everyone to know that crafting is always an alternative option to most prompts so long as you still follow the base requirements to the best of your ability.
• The toyhouse world and shelter storage are going to be facing a small face lift as far as their main page layouts. I, ( TornPages ), must admit, my old codes for either one of those are a bit clunky and hard to work with, making them rather unfavorable to edit on a regular basis. My goal is to keep the basic information provided on the main pages, all while trying to make the overall layout look cleaner and making it a million times easier to edit from our side.

Boreal Wishes

Boreal wishes is still ongoing for the month of January! The December prompts have rotated out, and now some fresh prompts surrounding the event have released for the duration of January. L.E.A.F. Tour
~Check in next month for dates~

Our NPC singing group, L.E.A.F. are going on tour! They will be visiting Chrysalopolis at random times serving as a pop-up prompt of sorts. The event will have the duration of 1 month during their specified tour months. Rumor has it you will see them making their first appearance in February, but for now you better head on over to Free Gifts to claim your concert tickets so you can see them live when they are in town! In the meantime while we wait for their tour to go live, why not show us some love for your favorite L.E.A.F. member in one of your prompt submissions? (you can click on their individual little images to be taken to their masterlist entry!)

Citron

A chill guy who likes to bake sweet treats and occasionally sell them at Matcha's coffee shop. He is a "go with the flow" kind of guy, but tries to avoid uncomfortable situations which results in him sometimes making poorly timed jokes.

Drach (New Years)

Unlike other Drach, this pet variant only appears before those they deem worthy. Instead of filing down their horns, the New Years Drach grants a wish to their preferred individual, combusting the star at the end of their horn like a sparkler. Each Drach can only grant one wish per year, though, so make it count!

Major Updates

Leaflet + Shop rebalance

We've very recently had a major update regarding the balancing of the leaflet economy, as well as making things more accessable in shops to users. In this update, you will notice:

• User, shop, and prompt payout leaflet values have all been multiplied by 10
• You can now get anywhere from 10 to 300 from Monet's Daily Roll!
• Farm crops now yield 3x their original selling prices, and Coop / Barn produce now yield 4x their orignal selling prices
• Coop and Barn animals can now be purchased at Darling's Market for 100 instead of 2,500  , making it easier to fill up your farm slots!
• Elixirs and MYO Cores for already-owners have been added to Barrie's Berry Shop, and the Rare MYO Bundle has been removed. The already-owner MYO Core will reset once a month and isn't static to one-time-only!
• Oleras that can be purchased with leaflets have lowered from 4 on resetting stock to 2
• Dubious Berries, Forbidden Berries, and Olera Berries have increased slightly in price from 35,000 to 45,000 for Dubious berries, 60,000 to 75,000 for Forbidden Berries, and 14,000 to 25,000 for Olera Berries
• Commeli Berries, Salix Berries, Minmites, and Whirs have also all been reduced in prices from 2,500 to 1,000 for Commeli Berries, 4,500 to 2,500 for Salix Berries, and 2,500 to 1,500 for Minmites and Whirs
• Subspecies berries have been added to the Cash Shop! Dubious Berries are available for $120, and Forbidden Berries are available for $200
• Wonderous Gifts bought from the Cash Shop now allow you to select what item you get from it!

 

Prompts 

With the addition of Criteria Rewards, our prompts have seen some big changes as well, and we still plan to improve prompts further!

• Minmites and Whirs have retired from being add-on bonuses, and are now classified as regular pets. All existing Minmites and Whirs have been converted into boxes that you can open to get a pet version of them, name them, and attach them to your characters!
• Shading is no longer required for submissions, but instead counts as an extra you can do!
• All prompts (with the exception of improvement and ARPG prompts) can now be commissioned, and no longer just Self Portrait and A Lovely Gift. Just state that the piece was commissioned in your criteria by turning the "Commissioned Piece" switch on; you will not get the full bonus rewards that you would by creating a piece yourself, instead getting a portion of that amount (You will still recieve the full base-rewards of the prompt!) You may not submit artwork that you were paid (money, site currency, pets or item trades) to do. 
• Winter Cheers, Spring Party, Beach Party, and Harvest the Best are retiring from prompts! Instead, we will now feature a new prompt similar to their simpler variants, Cup of Warmth, Spring Flowers, Heat Wave, and Autumn is Here when they are rolled over. Seasonal prompts roll over from autumn to winter on December 21st, so be sure to get any Harvest the Best submissions in before then, because next year it will be replaced!
• We have added a new "Miscellaneous Pacapillar Submissions"  prompt that you can submit an unlimited amount of time for any pacapillar pieces that do not apply to other existing prompts.
• Events with prompts are going to become a more regular thing. We loved seeing the love the Mirage Festival and Soulbloom Feast got, and we have no plans at stopping just there!
• We are trying to bring more life into our beloved NPCs again, and are in the works of planning special ARPG prompts where you can interract with the NPCs and get special rewards for completion. Stay tuned for further information!

 

Soulbloom Feast Wrapup

Soulbloom Feast is now officially over for 2023. We hope everyone enjoyed this event. Be sure to stick around for next year's release in which we will strive to make it better for users. We've heard every suggestion following the event, and will work to make things better for everyone. We hear you and appiriciate your feedback!

Congratulations to JacyFox for winning the Special "Seasons Change" Monster Pacapillar raffle created by TornPages . You will be transferred the character shortly and TornPages will send you a message with the full-resolution file of your new bean! We really loved seeing everyones amazing crafts, and you guys really blew us away with your creations!

Candy collectables are now tradeable and can no longer be sold for event currency. You can now trade with other users to try and complete your collection! Were you able to get all 10?

Thymes shop will remain open for a little bit yet if you still have event currency candies you want to trade in, and will close in exactly one week and any reamining candies currency will be deleted so that more focus can be spent on the Boreal Wishes event. Thyme is here to stay however! She is a permanent NPC you can include in your pieces freely!

Boreal Wishes
December 1st, 2023 - January 31st, 2024

As winter rolls into season, Chrysalopolis drifts into the north, causing the floating city to become rather cold, snow even falling from clouds higher than the city and creating a frigid, yet beautiful blanket of snow over the land. Pacas are starting to move indoors more where it's warm, often enjoying things like cuddling under a blanket with all their pets, or experimenting with different flavors of hot cocoa! The holiday season truly nears however pacas start to see stunning rainbow lights dance across the night sky, marking the start of Boreal Wishes, a season in which pacas gather together and put aside their differences, often giving gifts to each other to celebrate, and throwing huge parties in the middle of the season to ring in the new year. The Boreal Wishes season is most certainly the most joyous time of all.

They communicate with bell-like chimes produced from their decorated mane, and scavenge for long lost trinkets and baubles to add to it! This wily pet flaunts its collection with pride. They may just leave you a trinket of your own, if they wish for you to join their pack!

It’s time for the Soulbloom Feast!

Deep into the forest, Pacas from all over Chrysalopolis are gathering together to partake in the festivities. As you are running around the grounds of the event, soaking in all the possible fun activities you can do, someone from one of the booths calls to you...

We hope you join us in this brand-new event!

There's brand-new prompts  that award Candies, the event currency, and a special crafting challenge with extra special rewards, including a raffle ticket for a very special paca!

This time around we have a new NPC, Thyme! She is currently hosting the event shop, Creeping Thyme Stall. 
In this shop, you'll find new mutation items, brand-new pets, a capsule to obtain older halloween pets, and more!

The Candy Bag item contains 4 random candy items, which can be collected or sold for 1 candy each!  Keep your eye out for the rare Candy Berry, which is worth 2 candies!

Patreon supporters will also get a bonus 5 Candies for tiers below $35, and a bonus 10 Candies for tiers at $35 or above!

Hello everyone, and welcome to our monthly newsletter! We have some fun things both here and on the horizon that we can’t wait to share with you all.

To start things off, we have an ongoing event called the mirage festival!

The Snekket-based event, the Mirage Festival, is now live! Enjoy a myriad of fun-filled activities like snekket based prompts, an event-only shop including exclusive items, a snekket themed discord game later this month, and more! https://play.pacapillars.com/news/42.mirage-festival-2023 

All prompts featured in the festival can be found here, and grant monet tickets! The event shop, Mirage’s Prize Stand, can be found here, and has a couple different items that can be purchased for monet tickets. The newest and most exclusive item, Hol-O’s, grants a new trait called Overlay! This trait encases the entire paca in a substance of your choosing. The trait is Mutation+, and can be obtained by applying either a Ripe Olera or the seasonal item Hol-O’s. Here's a graphic that showcases the new trait:

DISCORD AND GAMING PLUG

Make sure to check out the discord this month! Winners and participants in these games get various forms of leaflet rewards, but with the event season being upon us, they will also be eligible to receive Monet tickets for certain games! Our first scheduled game will be this Friday, the 4th of August, at 6pm EST for Gartic Phone! It’ll be using the plug-in discord has for the game, so there’ll be no external websites needed! Everyone who participates will get leaflets, but only those who stay for a full hour of play will win Monet Tickets!

If you’re unaware, every month we feature a new pet in our Creature Feature corner, giving extra lore and information relative to the Pacapillar universe. The prompt related to this pet will also reward you with that pet, to share some of the love!

It's the Mirage Festival!!

It’s a special festival that happens every year in Chrysalopolis, in a place called “Dream Cloud”, which is an errant land mass covered with clouds that once a year gets close to Chrysalopolis. Pacas anchor it to Chrysalopolis for the festivities. It’s like making a party on a shooting star!

After the success of the snekket bonding theme last year, it has been decided that snekkets will remain a key focus for the festival! You may ask what this year's theme is then if last year the love between a paca and their snekket was the focus, and we're pleased to announce that for this Mirage Festival, the theme will be pastries and baked goods! Get your sweet tooth ready for loads of nub-made goodies!.

How does it work?

We have made a variety of prompts that award Monet Tickets! You can use them to get various rewards from the Mirage Prize Stand, including a brand new Mutation+ item that grants the Overlay trait!
Monet Tickets are valid from today and until September 30, 2023. All unused tickets after that day will disappear.

Prompts for this event end on September 16, 2023.

Hello everyone, and welcome to our second ever monthly newsletter! We have some fun things both here and on the horizon that we can’t wait to share with you all.

To start things off, we have a new host for our newsletter, Chikara!

I'm  still a little bit shocked I got the job, but I'm ready to bring you all the news you’ve been dying to hear. Although I may be an intern (for now), I look forward to working with the team going forward!

A little bit about me? Well, I'm actually part Kitsune! So the more I explore and learn, and the more I share with you guys, the stronger I grow. Yearly community events are especially great for my growth; who knows, I may even acquire a couple new tails and impart some of my knowledge on weary travelers! Stay tuned for more!

WHAT’S NEW

The month of June is going to be a bit on the quiet side when it comes to events, but we are projecting for some of our guides to be released during this time period. Many are in a fairly finished state, but need some tweaking before they’re ready for release. Thank you all for being so patient with us!

We also plan to start up discord games regularly, so definitely head on over there to check it out! Currently, we plan to host at least one game this upcoming weekend, and may do more as time permits. Winners and participants in these games get various forms of leaflet rewards, so make sure to be there! 

Joining our team is JacyFox  and Deertale! Jacy will be helping with design related duties, and Deertale will be working on prompt related duties.

NEW PROMPTS

Although all of our old monthly prompts are remaining the same, we have a couple of prompts that will be dropping this month! First of all is a Snekket flash prompt which will drop mid-month, where you all will be able to outfit your Snekket in a quirky costume. We really do love giving the spotlight to Snekkets, and hope you all enjoy it as much as we do! Our second prompt is going to be a new recurring monthly prompt, the Creature Feature!

CREATURE FEATURE

As you all may know, we have a lot of pets. A certified hoard of pets. Quite possibly an unreasonable amount of pets. But that’s okay! We love our pets, and want you all to know more about them! Every month we will feature a new pet in our Creature Feature corner, giving extra lore and information relative to the Pacapillar universe. The prompt related to this pet will also reward you with that pet, to share some of the love!

Speaking of, June’s creature feature is Nyandere! Check out the prompt to get one today.

As many of you may know, Pacapillars live on giant, floating clusters that are tethered together. The surface of the world that lays below them has always been a daunting mystery for most, and a source of fear for others. But perhaps the time is almost upon you all to pack your things, and gaze upon a world you haven’t connected with in many, many years.

HAPPY ALMOST HOLIDAYS Pacanation!

The holiday season is slowly approaching and we are happy to announce that sign ups for our Secret Santa #event are now live! 

If you don't know what a "Secret Santa" is, then here's a conveniently placed explanation:

Secret Santa is a Christmas tradition in which members of a group are randomly assigned other members to whom they anonymously give a gift. In this case, the gift will be art, writing, or a craft! 
It's a simple and fun way to celebrate the holidays and spread cheer all around! The gifts themselves do not have to be strictly Christmas themed, so even if you do not celebrate Christmas, we encourage you to participate if you'd like!

LIKE ANY EVENT, THERE ARE SOME RULES THAT SHOULD BE FOLLOWED:

• Be respectful!
• No explicit or rude behavior.
• All gifts must be kept PG-13 (no gore, inappropriate language, or other explicit content) 
• You must have a Pacapillar or Snekket to participate in this event. 
  • Both are available to be used for this gifting event (so anywhere it specifies a Paca, you can replace that with a Snekket if you want!).
• This event will primarily be run through Discord, so you must have an account to sign up and receive your assignments! 
  • The link to the group discord join link is:  https://discord.com/invite/VaSDuap 
• You must have a Play.Pacapillars.com account to participate in this event.
  • Accounts are free! Go join now if you haven't already. It's a great place to keep track of your in-game currency and chubby worm and noodle babies! 
• Allowed art parameters: 
  • Drawn artworks must be visibly shaded fullbodies.
  • If you are not the drawing type you may write a short story as a gift! The story must be at least 500 words long. 
  • If you are feeling adventurous and want to try your hand at a craft (such as papercraft, sculpting, etc.) all we ask is that there is visible effort on the part of the gifter! Feel free to reach out to a moderator to ask whether a certain piece you’re making would be acceptable. 
• Once you are assigned to a user you may not change or "trade" who you are gifting. If you have a legitimate problem with the user chosen, please let a mod know. 
• Please try to avoid signing up with a Pacapillar you are iffy on. If you trade a Pacapillar that has already joined the event (via the form) we are unable to make any changes or update your gifter about this change. 
  • If this happens please know that the new owner of the Pacapillar may receive the gift art instead of you. 
  • It is preferred that you only sign up with Pacapillars you know you love and use! 
  • You are still required to complete your half of the gift even if you trade your Pacapillar.
• Gifts should not be revealed until December 25th! This also means that you shouldn’t post wips of your work, as much as we’re excited to see them </3
  • As we get closer to the posting date, we will let you all know the specific place to post to, so don’t worry about it not popping up or not knowing where it is!

PRIZES ✨

• We will be giving away 250 Leaflets to every person who completes a gift!
  • Be sure to submit your gift to the correct spot (which will be revealed on December 25th) on Play.Pacapillars.com to receive your Leaflets!
• We will be entering all entrants into a raffle, so make sure you get your piece in on time!
  • Any user who gets their piece in on time on December 25th will be qualified to enter! If you are going to be late, you MUST ask for an extension; approved extensions UP UNTIL January 1st will still be entered into the raffle, but only if they are approved first! 
• Those who complete additional pieces pinch hitting for drop-outs will receive a 300 leaflet bonus!

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO:

• Fill out the Google Form below before the deadline (11/19/2022).
• The Mod team will assign all Santas randomly. We will DM you on Discord letting you know who you will be gifting!
• Once you review your "Giftee" from us you may start the event!
• Be sure to keep your gift a secret until Christmas Day (12/25/2022)

IMPORTANT DATES:

• Sign ups will begin today, November 12th
• The deadline for the form entry will be November 19th
• Users will receive their assignments by November 20th
• Gifts must be posted to the correct spot on the website on Christmas Day, December 25th, not before! 
• All late/approved extension gifts must be given/revealed before January 1st, if for some reason you are going to be later, please reach out to a Mod! 

DROPPING OUT | EXTENSIONS | PINCH HITTERS:

• The deadline for dropping out without penalty is December 18th, but we prefer that users drop out earlier to give pinch hitters more time to work.
  • Please note that dropping out means you forfeit all event rewards and you will not be entered into the raffle. 
  • If dropping out beyond this point without an approved extenuating circumstance, you will be barred from participating in the next event we hold.
• You may ask for an extension to be extended until January 1st, but please be aware that if you need an extension for after this date, you will not be entered into the raffle!
  • If you do not ask for an extension, but post after December 25th (but before January 2nd), you will not be entered into the raffle! So please let us know if you will not be able to post on the due date, so we can accomodate you.
• To ask for an extension past January 1st (until January 8th), you must reach out to a moderator before or on that date! Otherwise, we will count you as a no-show, and allow a pinch-hitter to complete the assignment. 
  • No-shows receive the same penalty as those that drop out beyond the check in point, except they will not be allowed to participate in the next two events instead of just one, regardless of what those events are. 
• Users who sign up and check that they would be okay with being pinch hitters will receive a small bonus for any extra completed works they do as a thank you for picking up the slack <3 
  • Due dates for pinch hitters are 2 weeks from the initial image reveal date, on January 8th
  • If you check that you’d like to be a pinch hitter, but end up not being able to when we reach out to you, that is perfectly fine! We understand that plans and how busy you are can change!

Fall is in the air...

Hello Pacammunity, and welcome to August's #general Monthly Newsletter! Presented by your's truly, Knife (ʘ‿ʘ✿) Only for this month, though! A special newscaster will be joining us as our Pacapillar host next month to help present our latest and greatest news to our wonderful community. We will have a newsletter at the beginning of every month, now, so that users can keep up to date on our latest news, see teasers for things to come, and become more involved in the group in general :) 

Design Approvals

This was announced in our discord, but as a response to the overwhelming amount of recent suggestions to halt approvals in order to focus on guides and making sure everything is up to date, we have decided to halt our design approval system for up to two months. This includes everything from myo submissions, to design updates, to our discord's design help channel. We may take less time than two months, but this is the general time period we've given for us to get all of our materials together. Having a specified time for guide making will give us more time to focus on creating and updating new and old guides, some of which were in dire need of a brand new look. The information presented in these guides will help both old and new users, and we hope they're helpful for the community! From revamped MYO and trait guides to new guides for each subspecies, we (and our lovely mod, Chura, especially) have been hard at work compiling these for you all!

Some new friendly faces!

I'd love to welcome our new mods to the team! We've been training them up this past month, and they're all here and ready to help out for the sake of the community :) The new mods, Arrow, Pon, Echo, Ryker, 2004005, and Bweepy have been studying away, and have been a great source of inspiration for the rest of the team! Pon and Greeny are primarily going to be seen moderating the discord, Ryker and Echo have been learning a ton about designs and how to interpret them (with an added bonus of being able to help out in multiple areas), and Bweepy and Arrow will be helping out with a lot of our event related moderation! Also, as a special announcement, Sketch has been promoted to Admin, and while Niv is still taking a mod vacation, they're still in our hearts <3

Speaking of the discord...

Now that our discord-related mods have been trained on all of the basics, we'll be hosting more discord games again! We'll even be having a Frankenpaca game today, at 1pm EST (courtesy of our mod, Ryker)! We plan to host at least one game per week within the discord, so make sure to head on over there in order to participate! All games will give varying amounts of currency, and the Frankenpaca that is made this week will later be available for users to offer in-game currency on :) Go on, get in there! (Only if you want to, of course.)

Certain site bugs 🐛

There is currently a bug that bars us from recycling the exclusive item limits, which will hopefully get resolved in the near future; we promise you'll be able to get more forbidden berries soon <3 Certain outstanding bugs (such as the character linking feature) are bugs we wish to hammer out, but require a much more thorough investigation. Currently, our main coder is a bit on and off in regards to availability, so certain smaller feature bugs that don't break main features of the website are being de-prioritized in favor of ones we can currently tackle while the coder is away. Thank you all for being understanding!

New monthly event on the horizon...

Starting in September, we will have a pacapillar or snekket of the month! Stay tuned for more news in the next monthly newsletter, but the monthly character will have certain incentives if they are included in your submissions, and there will be certain prizes for having your kid included.

Just a small reminder that our snekket-based event, the Mirage Festival, is still ongoing, and ends on September 30th! It's our introduction to snekket mutations, and you can even buy your very own snekket mutation using the tickets, so we'd love to see you all participate while the event is ongoing!

It's the Mirage Festival!!

It’s a special festival that happens every year in Chrysalopolis, in a place called “Dream Cloud”, which is an errant land mass covered with clouds that once a year gets close to Chrysalopolis. Pacas anchor it to Chrysalopolis for the festivities. It’s like making a party on a shooting star!
This year, we are having a snekket-themed celebration, to celebrate the special bond between Pacapillars and Snekkets!
Snekket-themed decorations and Snekket-friendly attractions are quite prominent this year! Don't have a Snekket? No problem! You can always bring a friend's.

How does it work?

We have made a variety of prompts that award Monet Tickets! You can use them to get various rewards from the Mirage Prize Stand
Monet Tickets are valid from today and until September 30, 2022. All unused tickets after that day will disappear.

Prompts for this event end on September 15, 2022.
