★ General Species Updates

From prompt, to designs, to Discord, we are working at overhauling a good portion of our older areas of information to make things more clear to users, and to make sure no one is lead astray by any of our old information. After bringing on new mods, our admins now have more time to focus more heavily on these updates. If you're active in the Discord server, you have have noticed some of these changes already, and many of the updates in this newsletter are a result of these changes as well. Please be patient with us as we try to modernize everything!

★ Discord Server Rules Update

One of our first big updates this month is an update to our Discord server rules, as well as the addition of some new roles. The new rules are as follows:

★ General Rules ★

• • This is a PG-13 server. Any mentions of adult media (shows, species, etc.) is strictly forbidden and will result in your post being removed.
  • Be courteous to one another. Mods have the right to kick you for bad behavior.
  • Do not start or encourage drama. If you have a problem with another user and need us to know about it, please open a private help ticket in ⁠contact-us for staff to deal with accordingly. Further, drama regarding real-life or other species issues should not be topics of conversations either.
  • If anyone asks for a discussion topic to be changed, whether it's a staff member or another user, then the topic is to be changed without people asking "Why".
  • The above rule applies to spoilers as well if someone is requesting that an image is censored.
  • Racism, Homophobia, Transphobia, P*dophilia etc. are topics that are STRICTLY FORBIDDEN.
  • Please understand this is not the appropriate place for you to vent about serious stuff, IRL or otherwise. This includes, but is not limited to, general discussions about mental illnesses, therapy, or medications. If you are in need of someone to talk to about these topics, you should speak with someone you trust in DMs or real life.   • Please keep ranting to a minimum. We discourage this behavior in our server and anything other than a brief mention is subject to message deletion.
  • Using pacapillars or snekkets without a masterlist entry in art or written pieces is not allowed. The only exception to this are Official and Guest Artist adopts, and Nokkelborth or Toripng customs as they are already official.
    • NOTE: Mod and Guest Artist customs still require going through the MYO approval process, and are not automatically official unlike Nokkel and Tori customs!
  • No repetitive self-depreciation of yourself or your creations or complement fishing. We don't condone making others feel guilty to like your work or give you complements.
  • Make sure you keep all language and posts Safe For Work [SFW]! Any adult media should not be discussed in this server under any circumstance!
    • This includes, but is not limited to:
      • Blood/gore (mild blood that's is a color other than red is ok in small amounts. EX - hot pink)
      • Sex/explicit imagery or language. This includes artistic nudity, pinups, and suggestive clothing.
      • Swearing (if you think it's inappropriate, don't use it!)
      • Prejudice behavior or language
      • Depictions of alcohol or drug use. Animal Crossing-like "drinks", such as "Vacation Juice", are fine.
  • Do not block staff members for telling you to stop doing something or enforcing the rules. (Personal issues are different). If you are uncomfortable with a certain staff member, you're welcome to request another staff member to handle your stuff.
  • Do not solicit trades/commissions/ads in the general channels.
  • Do not beg for privileges. Such as staff roles, Guest Artist, team lead roles, etc.
  • Do not beg for items, currency, or characters.
  • Cheating the game in ways such as using a second account for more rewards, purposely filling out incorrect criteria or adding rewards to prompt submissions is not allowed. Everyone must work for their rewards fairly.
  • Impersonation can lead to a ban.
  • Staff have the right to take action on anyone who has offensive material in their icon, status, name, nickname or links.
  • We appreciate any good intentions in helping out but please avoid any mini-modding to avoid spreading wrong information.
  • Staff members have final say on matters and topics should not continue after the fact. If there are issues with a staff member's decision, we will discuss it as a team in private to handle the matter.

★ Ad Board Rules ★

• • Do not advertise anywhere other than the channels located under Ad Board!
  • Do not advertise other servers or post invites.
  • You are allowed one post per advertisement channel every 72 hours. Once your older post is deleted, you're free to post a new one
    • NOTE: Deleting your advertisement just to post a new one (even if it's to advertise something different) is prohibited and will result in your new ad being removed. If you would like to advertise something else while you still have a post in the channel, please edit your old message.
  • Do not post the same advertisement in multiple channels.
  • Our species is a 13+ space, advertising 18+ seeking / trading species or art, or directly naming 18+ species will result in your ad being deleted. Please be aware if you disregard this rule repeatedly you may be suspended from posting advertisements.

★ Art / Writing Channel Rules ★

• • Before you post your own creative works in #⁠pacapillar-art, ⁠#paca-writing, or #⁠other-art, please make sure to acknowledge the art that's been posted right above yours. A simple sentence complimenting 1 or 2 things about the piece will do, (no emoji-only reacts), and it shows appreciation for the wonderful works others do! Please be aware that if you disregard this rule repeatedly your post may be deleted by moderators and too many warnings can result in being suspended from posting your own artwork.

★ Design Check Rules Update

More rules have been updated, and this one is specifically for the #design-check channel in our Discord Server. The new rules are as follows:

• • Kindly use the forms below for your submission. It's okay if traits are not correct, but please try to add your best guess. 
  • We kindly ask you to be patient with our staff team, sometimes life can be busy which may result in some waiting times. We will review your designs as quickly as possible.
  • Please do not submit your design for design-check and on-site approval at the same time. If you decide to submit your design directly to the site, please make sure to remove your design-check request to avoid any confusion or duplicate mod responses!
  • Please avoid pinging mods, as it does not guarantee a faster response. It's okay if it happens accidentally, but we kindly ask you to disable pings when replying to mods.
  • Please keep your posts to one message unless you forgot to add something or have additional questions. Kindly avoid sending several WIP updates unless you made big changes that you would like to have checked.

★ DTPAY rules update

Due to reopening our second Draw The Paca Above You channel in our Discord server, we have also modernized the rules in there to hopefully provide a better understanding of the game. If you would like to get the ping role for DTPAY, head over to our #reaction-roles channel to pick the role up!

How to play:

1. 1. Optional: You can get the @DTPAY role here.
   2. Simply make a "claim" in either of the DTPAY channels to join the game. Only one person can play the game per channel at a time. It cannot be claimed if the person above has not finished their artwork yet.
   3. After your claim you have 72 hours (3 days) to complete your artwork. While we do not grant any extensions you may ask for a few more hours if your artwork is nearly finished.
   4. Once you finish your artwork, post a new comment with the completed piece and the form filled out below:

Please do not forget to attach your artwork and ping the DTPAY role!

Rules:

• • Art Requirements: The artwork must be a clean colored fullbody and may not look too sketchy. Drawings that lack significant effort or do not follow the requirements or anatomy guidelines will be asked to be corrected. The edited version should be posted in the pacapillar-art channel. If too many art pieces require corrections, it may lead to a participation restriction.
    • You can find some helpful guides here.
  • Dropping out: If you are not able to finish your claim within the given time, you will be subject to a 1 month probation period where you are not allow to play the game. If you fail to complete the game several times, you may be restricted from playing for an extended period. Repeated offenses can result in a ban from the game.
  • Cooldown: After you have finished your artwork you have to wait until 3 separate claims have been finished in the initial channel you claimed in until your are able to play again. Please note that it is not allowed to claim in the other channel while you are on cooldown.
    • Example: Person 1 (you) claims and finishes their artwork in channel x. Person 2, 3 and 4 claim and finish their artworks after each other in the same channel. NOW you are able to play in either channel again.
  • Character Options: If you post a character that may be considered as complex, kindly provide an alternative simpler option for users to draw. If your character stays unclaimed for over 24 hours please provide more character options to draw. This should help with keeping the game moving!

★ Prompt Updates

Some major updates to prompts now, the more activity we see with them and the more events we have consistiently:

• Miscellaneous Pacapillar Submissions will now be limited to 15 submissions per user per month.
  • Though we want users to be rewarded for their work, we have noticed how some users have userd the Misc. Submissions prompt as a quick cash-grab, not putting as much effort into their misc. submissions as they would a standard prompt or commission work. As a result of this, it has put a lot of workload on prompt staff members to sort through all of these submissions in a timely manor. 
  • A further result of this is that ALL prompts will have a daily limit of 5 submissions to minimize queue flooding. This means if you submitted 4 Misc. prompts, and 1 Lovely Gift today, then that is the total amount of prompts you can submit today and will need to wait until tomorrow to submit any more, regardless of the prompt title.
• Level of Finish mini-guide
  • Further on the above issues mentioned above, we have created a level of finish mini-guide. Though in the past we have allowed users some sketchier linework, we have noticed a large amount of users abusing this freedom, and creating pieces that lacked effort in favor of making things more quickly. Though effort is determined user-by-user and not by comparing users to each other, if you submit a prompt that's really loose and sketchy, then post a cleanly lined commission piece in the server, we're going to notice. 
  • To make sure everyone is putting effort into their pieces, we have created the below guide for what we will be accepting for prompts moving forward. This level of finish will also apply to DTPAY pieces.
    
• Half Body VS Fullbody mini-guide
  • By popular demand, we have created a mini-guide for what is acceptable as Half Body and Fullbody counters.
    • Anything before the green line is just a headshot and will not count towards rewards
    • Between the green and pink lines is what would be considered acceptable as a Half Body grading
    • Anything from the pink line and further is fine to mark as a Fullbody
      

★ New Staff Members

Amongst all the chaos of updates, you may have noticed some members who have joined our staff rankings! Please give a warm welcome to our new moderators, Maharaja , and Broken Bottle Chandelier who will be handling Discord monitoring, as well as Broken Bottle Chandelier helping out with prompts alongside Plague1010 and maarblecakes ! Please be patient with our new staff members as they are learning the ropes, and be gentle if they make mistakes. We have brought them on during a very chaotic update stage of the species, so they are trying to learn both our existing systems, and our new ones.

★ Alley Shop Update

To adapt to the new standard mutation items, the Alley Shop has had some price adjustments to balance things out a little bit better. The price changes are as follows:

• Psidium Berry:
  • Was: 15
  • Now: 10
•  Fragaria Berry:
  • Was: 20
  • Now: 15
• Ultra Mutation Items
  
  • Was: 30
  • Now: 35 (Increased to accomidate for standard mutation items)
•  Ripe Olera Berry
  • Was: 60
  • Now: 50 (Still has a shared stock)

Following this update, with the seasonal rotation of Ultra mutation items, ONE  new standard mutation item will be rotated in alongside the existing two. The standard mutation items will be priced at 25 , and will not have any stock limitations. Any standard or snekket mutation items that are not included in the seasonal stock rotation will be featured in one of our Event Shops.
The first of our standard mutation items to be featured in seasonal rotation is the Mixed-Berry Dango, which applies the Split (Standard) mutation to an existing Pacapillar or a Pacapillar MYO slot.

Game Nights!

ChaoChild 's Discord game night will take place on April 19th for a standard game night, and April 26th for a game of Frankenpaca! Both games will happen around 3pm EST. There will be reminders posted in the server when they're getting things ready and when the game is live! Be sure to keep an eye out to have some fun with what they have planned!

NPC Prompts

Further delays expected for the NPC prompts. Please bare with us while we work through setting everything up for these as they are intended to be permanent one-time prompts for users to participate in. The ones that were intended to release already will likely all go live around the same time. Please pick up the Species Updates ping in our Discord server in the #reaction-roles channel to be notified when these are released.

APril Flash Prompts

To celebrate April Fools, we have decided to release two flash prompts for users to participate in! The first being Inconvenient Artistry, where you are to create a written or drawn piece of media that may not be common in your standard arsenal of supplies or methods. The second being Partner Pokémon. Pacapillars has no affiliation with Pokémon, though this prompt is just for fun! If your Pacapillar were in the world of Pokémon, what would their team look like? Both of these prompts will reward additional Eggies to use in the Eggs Giving event shop!

L.E.A.F. 2025 TOur Dates

L.E.A.F. is late to release their tour dates this year, oh no! I'm sure their shows will sell out regardless of the short timeline however. L.E.A.F. will be touring various places of Chrysalopolis in the months of May, September, and November. Rumor has it they plan to set up a merch shop and sell new trinkets too!

Seasonal Rotation

We say goodbye to Winter, and hello to Spring! Winter seasonal prompts and mutation items have rotated out, and their Spring counterparts have been rotated in! Remember that if you completed both of your Winter prompts, submit a claim with proof of both your submissions having been approved for an award! This same idea will apply to the Spring prompts as well; if you complete both of this year's Spring prompts, submit them in a claim to get an award!

Fintastic Flakes to Fish and Ships conversion

As mentioned in our February Newsletter, Fintastic Flakes will now be used solely for the Fins ultra mutation, the new item, Fish and Ships will now give Octo Body. If you originally bought Fintastic Flakes for the purpose of using it for Octo Body, this will be the last month that the window to exchange it for a Fish and Ships item instead. You have until May 2nd, 2025 to exchange your Fintastic Flakes. After the mentioned date, you will not be able to swap your item for free any longer, and will need to purchase Fish and Ships, a Ripe Olera, or a Wondrous Gift  to be able to obtain Octo Body for your MYOs and redesigns.
