Birthday Pet Reminder

October will be the last month to receive the Mimic (Birthday)! If you would like to receive this pet and still have an unopened Birthday Gift in your inventory, don't forget to open it before November rolls over. Afterwards there will be a new pet available in the Birthday Gift, that will be announced next month. Important Note: Please note that the pet inside the gift box will be changed manually, so don't open up the gift too early on the 1st of November in case we have not done the rollover yet. Once the Newsletter for November releases, you are free to open the Birthday Gift with the new pet, which will again be included in said Newsletter!
(Reminder that your birthday setting must be set to option 1, "Members can see your day and month." at the minimum to receive a FREE birthday gift automatically on the first day of your birth month! You will not receive a free gift if you have the "No one can see your birthday" setting applied.)

Coding Updates

Collapsable Character Folders

Last month we have added Collapsable Pet and Item Categories and this feature has now been extended to include Collapsable Character Folders, too! If you have sorted your Pacas and Snekkets into different folders, they can now be collapsed with the 'Show' text next to the respective folder!
If you don't know how to add folders to your characters, you have to go to this page: https://play.pacapillars.com/characters and create a new folder at the top of the page. Afterwards you can sort your characters in those newly created folders. You can also change the order of your characters here, too!

Guest Artists Return

After a huge break from frequent sales we are happy to announce that the Soulbloom event will feature three new or returning Guest Artists again. We won't be hosting monthly Guest Artist sales anymore since we have noticed that too many sales were too overwhelming for the community and resulted in unsold designs for our Guest Artists. But we would love to host these sales every now and then, and especially for bigger events such as Soulbloom. That being said you can find the list of Guest Artists in the Design Schedule section down below. If you would like to apply as a Guest Artist, you can also find the application form down below, too! (Please do not sign up if you have filled it out already, we will also check past submissions when choosing new Guest Artists!)

No New NPC Lore :pensivebread:

Unfortunately, I was not able to finish this month's NPC lore because I broke my wrist. Please blame the metal piece on the floor! This is also the reason why the Character of the Month update is also delayed. Sorry for any inconveniences and longer waiting times caused by this.. :(
(Both of them should hopefully be finished next month then!)

Game Nights!

ChaoChild 's Discord game night will take place on October 17th at 6:00 pm EST for a standard game night, and October 24th at 6:00 pm ESTfor a special edition of a Monster Subspecies Frankenpaca! There will be reminders posted in the server when they're getting things ready and when the game is live! Be sure to keep an eye out to have some fun with what they have planned!

Chrono Capsules Description Update

The beloved Chrono Capsules now finally list all pets included in their respective loot tables! Currently there is a total of six different Chrono Capsules, with four of them being found in the Secret Shop and two being Halloween and Holiday (Christmas) exclusive. As of right now, the pets listed in these descriptions do not link to their respective pet encyclopedia entries, however, this will be worked on over time, too. Please note, that linking all these pets just takes some time, but at least you do not need to guess anymore, which pet can be obtained from which capsule!

Johnpocalypse?!

As of right now we now have a whole total of 30(+) Pacas named John! The Pacammunity has decided there is now a "John army". We are not entirely sure what to do with this information, just wanted to let everypaca know. If you encounter a suspiciously large gathering of Pacas named John, do not panic. They are probably just... having a meeting. But you can view all the John's in their full glory on the Masterlist!

On a real note though: We wanted to thank the community for the huge participation in this very inofficial event! It's been a while since we have had so many MYO submissions in such a short timeframe and we really loved to see the interaction and creativity this funny trend came with. ♡

Soulbloom Feast
- Reminiscing Memories -

Deep within the forests of Chrysalopolis, Pacapillars and Snekkets gathered for the annual Soulbloom Feast. Despite the forest's ominous rumors of Monsters and Poisons lurking among the trees, countless Pacas made their way into the woods to partake in the festivities. Dressed in colorful costumes, most visitors seemed far more interested in enjoying the celebration than worrying about what might be hiding in the shadows. Among those guests was an oddly large Paca, soft-spoken and well-mannered, wearing a purple hat, with flowers growing directly from her body. Thyme was more than happy to share some of the history and folklore surrounding the Soulbloom Feast:

“These woods are thought to be the home for those who are corrupt and have fallen from magic. Monsters and Poisons lurk within the shadows, hiding away from the common world of Chrysalopolis. Since Chrysalopolis is built up on magic, it is generally believed that only those who hold magic within themselves can remain within the floating civilization without falling to the Surface below. According to legend, Monsters who have little to no magic, have built a spider like web including their very own city, that hangs beneath Chrysalopolis. A place where they can escape to, and a place where they are safe and not seen as a threat. That city of webs is said to be directly beneath this forest, which may be the reason these woods have so many beings of corruption here...

Despite all this, the Soulbloom Feast is centered around the enormous Tree of Souls. It is said to hold the souls of the past, and during this special time of year, the tree sprouts fruits that resemble candies. Only then, it sheds its bark and becomes smooth, allowing those who have passed, to walk the land of Chrysalopolis alongside us. In honor of the souls within the tree, we have a feast. So every year when this threshold is crossed between the afterlife and those who breathe, we celebrate here so that we can connect with those we lost, and celebrate our own lives.”

Every year, new candies that appear to be different from last year's seem to be blooming on the branches of the Tree of Souls. Last year's harvest, however, came with an unexpected twist. After a particularly dry summer caused a severe drought throughout Chrysalopolis, forcing the sacred tree to draw additional water from the nearby ocean in order to survive. With the new salt water flowing through its branches, the Tree of Souls has produced remarkably sour berries.

This year however, the Tree of Souls is sprouting both sweet and sour berries, for everyone to pick their favorite taste. The theme of this year's Soulbloom Feast, Reminiscing Memories, shall focus on the part of remembering the souls of the past, and being thankful of the life we have. Additionally, there will be a bigger focus on Monsters this year! That being said - there will be three smaller prompts and four storyline prompts that can be finished for various goodies such as pets, collectables and of course lots of   Treats which can be spent in the Creeping Thyme Stall.
Please note, that the first two parts of the storyline are already available in October, while Part 3 and 4 will be released at the beginning of November. After completing all four parts you will not only be rewarded with an exclusive award, but also your very own Deadly Elixir. This item can be used to give your Pacapillar a Monster Form. Please keep in mind that Forms are only disguises and Monster Forms will not have an Exposed Core. We are incredibly excited to see what your Pacapillars uncover in the depths of the forest - and we can’t wait to see all your submissions!
