A soft breeze flowed through Primrose’s fur as she began to follow her friends with the crowd of pacas beginning to make their way out of the events grounds.
They had just announced that the SoulBloom Feast had ended and requested that guests begin to make their way out so that they could clean and pack up.
Primrose’s pace slowed down as they turned to get another look at the event grounds before she left so the happy feelings she had could come to a close. Though, looking back, they couldn’t stop the frown that came onto their face. Back at the grounds, she could see the tired look on the pacas helping run the event. A small string of guilt pulled at her as she watched the workers sweep up loose candy wrappers and other various trash left by guests who were too lazy to throw it away.
“Primrose?” Varabelle’s voice called and Primrose snapped her had back to the snekket that was now fluttering back over to the smaller paca, their other friend Binani not too far behind. “You okay?”
“Yeah! I just-“ The small blue and white paca looked back to the workers, “They have so much work to do and there’s only so many of them. It might get too dark before they’ll be able to clean it all.”
The snekket looked over the crowd and surveyed what Primrose had been talking about, “Yeah- I suppose you’re right. Are you wanting to help?”
“I do…” Primrose said but her body language said otherwise.
“If you’re nervous I can come help!” Varabelle offered and it pulled a smile from Primrose.
“I can help too!” Binani offered, “Just let me tell my brother we’ll catch up with him in a little while.”
Primrose gave a nod as Binani shuffled to quickly get through the crowd and Varabelle began to help her and Primrose get through the exiting crowd. Once in a clearing the two of them made their way over to someone who was already cleaning.
“Hi!” Varabelle started, “Do you happen to have a spare trash bag? We’d like to help clean.”
The working paca gave a smile and scooted to pull a trash bag from the box that was seated near them. “We appreciate the help- thank you so much.”
Varabelle took the bag and aired it out to make it open enough to put trash into it. Primrose didn’t waste time going over to an abandoned picnic table, grabbing the loose trash off of it, and tossing it into the bag Varabelle was still holding.
Binani had finally made it back to her friends and tossed a nub full of candy wrappers into the bag. She received a quizzical look from the other two in return.
“What?” She asked as it was now obvious her mouth was full of candy. “They had some leftover and was giving it out for free.”
Primrose couldn’t help the giggle that left her as she turned around to continue cleaning.
