An annoyed grunt left the crystalized, monster pacapillars mouth as the pattering of small paws continued to run around the dark enclosure of his den. Ever since this thing learned to walk it seems like there is just constant noise now- not to mention that it can make noise.

As if on queue the small snekket made a churring noise as it came to rub up against the side of his face from where he was resting on the floor of his cave. Grimm attempted to pull away but the smaller creature just moved to be leaning on him more. The monster abruptly stood up. An unsuccessful night of hunting now paired with a disturbance to his sleep was making him more irritable than normal.

The lack of support had caused the snekket to fall over and shuffle to look up at the monster pacapillar now towering over him. He simply began to wag his tail- the tip of his tail making a horrible scraping noise. Worse than when Grimm drags his feet across the rocks.

The noise had made the monster grimace and he leaned down to pick up the soul-bound snekket by the scruff of their neck. He wasn’t going to deal with this while he tried to sleep. Instead- he was going to head over to the pacapillar that caused this soul-bonding issue in the first place. When he arrived the burrow mate of Skye’s was just exiting the den. His presence was immediately noticed if the scream the dark blue pacapillar gave was anything to go off of.

Gibby seemed to take a moment to compose himself before turning to wiggle back into the den. Grimm was left awkwardly waiting with the baby snekket still left in his maw. The noodle-like creature wiggled in an attempt to get loose but failure made it quickly give up with a whine.

Not too much time had passed before Gibby had reemerged from the den. “Good morning, Grimm…” Gibby said as he looked up to him with mild irritation lacing his words. Grimm’s lack of response made Gibby roll his eyes but he looked to the snekket and couldn’t help but give a small smile.

“He’ll be out soon,” Gibby stated before turning to make his way towards the edging of the woods- presumably towards town. As promised, a sleepy dark green pacapillar emerged a couple of moments later. Three buncle had jumped their way out as well and began to circle the monster's legs. Grimm lowered enough to release the snekket from his jaws clutches and dropped the creature.

“Dagger…!” Skye said sleepily but was still happy to see him. He let out an ‘oof’ sound as the Snekket tackled him and began to happily lick his face. Skye used his head feeler to block the part of his face Dagger was trying to lick until his disinterest made him hop off and begin to chase Aqua, Skye’s blue buncle around the nearby open space. Soon, Zephyr and Terra joined in on the fun but opted to chase Dagger who was still chasing Aqua.

A small quack came from behind Grimm’s head. He hadn’t even noticed the small creature joined them when he left. He shook his body to fling the Squacky off of him. Luckily, Skye was quick enough to catch it. He gave a frustrated sigh before setting the pet down on the ground. He watched it with a careful gaze as it attempted to follow the rest of the creatures.

“Why are you here? You’re typically asleep by now,” Skye said, sleep beginning to slowly fade away from his tone.

Typically,” Grimm retorted to the smaller pacapillar. “The snekket is too noisy. You take him,” his voice was gruff and tired.

“You heard Monet- at this young of an age you and Dagger really shouldn’t be apart for too long.”

“I didn’t hear anything,” Grimm declined. Skye rolled his eyes.

“Why don’t we go back to your den and I’ll help get him to settle down so you can sleep?” Skye asked and watched Grimm process his words. His gaze drifted as he thought. “It might help him get on your sleep schedule so you won’t have to find me every day,” the standard pacapillar added on.

A defeated sigh. The monster turned and began to walk away. Dagger began to follow out of instinct. So Skye scooped up the Squacky that was quacking softly for them and began to follow. The journey was short- it felt shorter each time he came by now.

Grimm had already retreated to the back of his den and Dagger began to run around immediately. Skye chuckled softly as Grimm grumbled at the disturbance already. The standard pacapillar moved to rest near the monster, calling Dagger over to settle down. It took a moment but some bribing of treats and belly rubs seemed to satisfy the growing creature. After a while he took notice that Grimm had drifted off, as well as Dagger. He looked around as he contemplated getting up.

Though now that his buncles and the squacky seemed to take this time to sleep some more he found himself stuck. If he moves he might wake everyone up and he would rather not deal with Grimm freshly woken up and angry.

He couldn’t help himself as the peaceful moment began to drape over him like a blanket. He stifled a yawn and shifted ever so slightly to lean up against Grimm as he started to doze off.

Even after they’ve both woken up later in the day they both refuse to acknowledge that they were cuddling by the time Dagger was full of energy again.
