Satchet's oh so very long day

Satchet held her nubs up defensively as the large crystallized monster growled in frustration. "I promise that's all I know," she repeated with a wavering voice as she tried to stay calm. The monster made glaring eye contact for a silent moment, his intimidating presence swallowing her smaller form before he let out an annoyed huff in her direction and made an attempt to lean closer to the little purple plush paca. With his movements the other standard paca that was with him quickly opened one of his wing head feelers to smack the other in the face, unintentionally hitting his core. The monster winced as he dropped the basket he was holding with his tail and stepped back. Both smaller pacas moving in quickly with a panic, to check over the delicate egg inside. Satchet visibly relaxes as she takes note that it is safe. With Grimms focus now off of her, he growls as he picks back up the basket and begins to storm away. His blade-like limbs seemed to kick up the soil under him as he went. There was still the small dark green paca that had approached with him, standing in front of her, now a bit uneasy. He began to move his nubs to use a bit of sign language as he spoke softly to accompany his nubs. "Sorry about him. Grimm is just like that." Sachet gave him a small smile knowing he meant well, "It's ok. Sorry, I couldn't be more help." She responded. Skye shook his head and continued. "It's fine. I'll find Monet." She nods at his words, knowing she could trust them. “Good luck in finding him." She leans a bit to the side to get a better look at the large monster grumbling as he's walking away to continue her words. "And I hope that egg is ok." Skye gave a confident smile " I'll make sure of it." Was all he said before turning to run after the larger paca. Waving to satchet over his shoulder as he left.

She sighed, finally being alone with her waiting work. Or so she thought. Just as she turned to begin unpacking the next box of plush supplies there was a much nicer voice that called to her. "Hello, excuse me?" She excitedly turned to the voice’s owner, happy to have a customer after all of that. She was then being greeted with a shiny red paca that looked kind of like a balloon. "Hello, how can I help you?" She greeted sweetly in return. Only then taking notice of the familiar green blanket with white polka-dots tied around his front in a makeshift sling. An equally familiar blue and purple egg sitting nestled in it, snug to his chest. "Oh" was all that came out of her mouth as she physically deflated, unintentionally. Her long head feelers sagging more to the floor and her round tail drooped. She quickly realized that she probably looked a bit more disappointed than she intended to once she noticed the paca in front of her wince slightly at her (over) reaction. She popped back up, bouncing her feelers as she did, and began to apologize. "Sorry. Sorry. It's about the snekket egg right?" Even though she knew the answer, she questioned him, worried that she had upset the poor guy just looking for answers. The balloon paca let out a soft light-hearted laugh. "Yeah, you guessed right. I'm sure I'm not the first to ask you about it." He spoke with a smile and she shared one with him. "Yeah. No. Everyone seems to have gotten one." She let out a sigh at the memory of all the pacas she had to turn away with so little information as of late. The red paca shared a sympathetic look before, very animatedly, standing up straighter. “Oh! Where are my manners?” He then held out a nub for her to shake. Satchet took it on impulse as he continued. “Names bobble. Sorry for the bother but I just happened to notice your store tag on some of the stuff I received.” She nodded after shaking his nub while he talked. Knowing how this conversation was going to go. “ Yes, well, I had a very large order a few months ago but I can't tell you much on who made it. As the order was anonymous.” she began to explain. Bobble was now the one to look a bit deflated. But only for a moment as he seemed to perk back up. “ Would you have any idea where I could go from here?” He asked. His eyes full of hope as he gently rubbed the shiny egg swaddled to his chest.

Satchet again gave him a nice sweet smile. “ Well. You could try and find Monet.” Bobble looks A little confused at her statement. “Monet?” He asked with a tilt of his head. She couldn't help but let out a soft laugh before answering him. “Yes. He would be the one to know about all these eggs. A little bot of a snekket expert if you ask me.” She clarified. The little balloon paca seemed to beam at this new found information. “Where can I find him?!” He asked excitedly, almost looking like he would start bouncing if it wasn't for his little eggy passenger. His reaction made satchet’s smile grow a bit, only for it to fall shortly after. “Sorry.. I don't know where he is.” She felt kind of bad telling him that. But it was the truth. So she expected him to become disappointed again and deflate. (Metaphorically) But he didn't. After looking a bit stumped, Bobble gave the purple paca that big dopey smile he had before. “That's ok.” He said in an almost sing-song voice. “I'm sure I could track him down, with enough gumption.” He stated confidently. Causing her smile to return and grow again. She was so relieved To know he wasn't upset like many of the others had been.

Just before she could open her mouth to speak again, the cardboard box on the ground next to them began to peep loudly. Taking both pacas by surprise. With the noise she moved quickly to grab a little cup to scoop up some feed from the bag next to the newly noisy box and began to sprinkle it in from the top. Bobble leaned to the side to take a peek past her as she did this only to gasp and squeak in excitement. “squackys!!” he squealed, adjusting his stance to see more clearly into the box, the little feathered friends happily pecking at the new feed being given to them. “Oh, yes. They always tend to hatch in abundance around this time of year by my home.” She stated. Being a little tired from all the care she had been trying to give them in between work and all the pacas with questions. “there's so many!” the red paca looked amazed at the filled little ducky box. “you care for them all by yourself?” He asked, his attention now back on the long feelered paca. “well I try.” She spoke with a smile in her voice as she stood back up. “I've also been handing them out to any who may want one.” She watched the little spring squackys play in the box As she spoke. Only turning to bobble after taking notice of the small silence that overtook the two of them.

Bobble was staring at the plush paca with the biggest sparkles in his eyes. She couldn't help but let out a laugh at his reaction to her words. “yes. Yes. You can take one.” She confirmed as he nub bummed excitedly with a small ‘yes’ before looking back into the box to take his pick. He examined them all for a moment before picking one who's flower was a little wilted. “I'll take this one. She could use a little one on one.” He said with a smile as he picked up the little pet, making the squacky quack happily. “I guess I'll be on my way then.” Sachet smiled, happy for his choice. “Alrighty. Monet is on vacation so try some popular spots first when looking.” She informed. Knowing that it wasn't much but could still be helpful. The shiny red paca gave her the biggest smile as he thanked her and headed on his way, new squacky in nub and a new snekket on the way. Sachet let out a happy sigh. ‘Finally’ she thought. ‘back to work’. Just as she turned to start back up what she was doing before all this. She turned to be greeted with the small line of pacas forming. Each paca carrying with them a very similar basket. She slumped in exhaustion at the very long day ahead.
