Chohea pranced happily down the path as he danced a little bit to a song stuck in his head. Nature sang a song of beauty; a harmony of birds, crickets, squirrels, frogs, and the breeze rustling in the trees above. Overall, it was a beautiful day for a stroll, but it would be much better with some company, and that was exactly what Chohea had planned. He was dressed in his favorite bowtie, and quite excited; he was on his way to surprise his girlfriend, CottonSpectrum, with a romantic stroll date. He paused for a moment, looking into a puddle at his reflection, making sure his bowtie was still perfect. As he confirmed to himself that he looked fine, a cool breeze sent a shiver up his spine as a yellow leaf landed in the puddle before him, sending ripples through his reflection. Chohea glances up at the fire-colored trees above him, as he watches some of the colorful leaves rain gracefully down. He smiles wide and thinks to himself, Specky will love this! Everything is so pretty! With this thought, Chohea’s little heart races as he thinks of his lover, and thus he continues on his journey to her place.
One arriving at Cotton’s place, Chohea smiles, taking in a deep breath to calm his anxiety as he fixes his bowtie once again, knocking on Cotton’s door. Right after knocking, he realizes he didn’t have anything to give to Cotton once she answered. With quick thinking, he plucked a daisy from beside the doorstep, and fidgeted with it to hold it properly. During his struggle, Cotton answered her door and gave a slight chuckle watching Chohea try to grab the flower. “Chohea! What a surprise!” She giggled taking the daisy from him and plopping it behind her feeler whilst inviting him inside. “So what brings you here today, my love?” Chohea blushes and glances down at his bowtie and smiles adorably up at Cotton. Cotton blushes some with her own smile, before glancing out her window and she frowns a little bit. “Chohea, bunny-baby, don’t you think it’s a little cold out for a date? I appreciate the gesture, but I really don’t have anything I can go out in this weather in. Unlike you, I don’t like the cold… I’ll freeze my feelers off out there. Maybe we can just stay in, watch some movies, and be cozy?” Chohea frowned a little, he was really excited to go on an Autumn walk with the Paca he cherished most in the world. He thought for a second before his face lit up with an idea. He puts a nub on either side of Cotton, as he looks into her eyes with a big smile. He raises a nub to tell her to stay put, before kissing her cheek and running out the door. Cotton stood there, dumbfounded. “I wonder what he’s up to now? I guess I’ll just wait here for him to return…”
Chohea ran all the way to town as fast as his little nubs could carry him. He goes into the first clothing store he finds and browses the selection. After a short time he finds the perfect article. It was quite pricey, but he paid the clerk the price in full, adding some extra to the funds and pointing to some gift wrap. The clerk nods understanding what he meant, wrapping the article up beautifully and handing it back to Chohea. Chohea smiles in thanks, taking the gift and running back to Cotton's place.
As he returns to Cotton's place, he stops at the doorstep, panting to catch his breath, gift on his back. Cotton saw Chohea's shadow outside and opened the door, letting him back in. "Oh my! Bunny-baby, did you just run that entire time you were gone?!" Chohea looked up at Cotton, nodding quickly, trying to calm how heavy his breathing was. He gulps down some air, turning and grabbing the gift off of his back for his partner. Cotton steps out of the way so Chohea could head in and grab some water. Closing the door behind him, Cotton Sat on the door mat, and eagerly began opening her gift. Inside, was a cloak that was made of a fuzzy, warm, dark blue material. On the hood was an embroidered face of a bunny, and there were ears made of the same base fabric stitched on. Along the trim of the bottom of the cloak was some soft, light blue cotton. Cotton's eyes shone as she saw the gift as a few thankful tears formed. She threw the cloak on to try it out, and snuggled the fabric some against her face. It was a perfect fit! As Chohea exited Cotton’s kitchen, she ran up to him and hugged him tight, tears of happiness streaming down her face. “Oh Bunny-baby! I love it! Thank you!” Chohea smiled warmly as he hugged her back, gently rubbing her a little to tell her ‘you’re welcome’. Cotton drew back, wiping her tears with a smile, before nodding and speaking again. “This is perfect! You didn’t need to do this my love. Well, at least now we can go on that date you wanted to.” She nuzzles his cheek some, and backs up. Chohea’s heart was pounding, so in love with Cotton. He then walked up to her, taking one of her nubs with his own, and he smiled warmly at her. He opened the door and they went off for their peaceful walk. Autumn was now here, in full beauty, and now with Cotton’s new cloak, Chohea could enjoy the season of color with the one he loved.
